Welcome to Paddle the Expanse!

This is meant to document my own adventures into the expansive prairie of Saskatchewan and beyond. I love that I can weave around the province by canoe and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the land. I love that I could paddle from just in my “backyard” all the way to Hudson Bay if I really wanted to. If anything on here gives you ideas or confidence to go out and explore the expanse yourself then that has made the project worth it.

This season I’m planning on paddling to Grey Owl’s Cabin in Prince Albert National Park with some students, visiting Nistowiak falls with family and friends, and tripping from just south of Lake Diefenbaker along the Qu’Appelle River to Fort Qu’Appelle.

I’ve become somewhat obsessed with maps and cartography so I’ll be posting some custom maps of these routes as well! Get out there and explore the expanse!
